Long interview with the Lady in today's Times. She calls us customers not fans. That's pretty much all you need to know from it. Here's the full quote:
"I changed the segregation line. I increased the number of stewards and told them to make sure they treated our customers properly"

Johnson our 2 previous owners saw us as customers they were just less obvious about it, but it was veiled business plans all the same to make more dosh and take advantage of a loyal support.
Blame the ridiculous marketing ploy since the early 90's which most fans fell for hook, line and sinker.

Johnson don't do himself any favours and is able to contort even the most positive slant into a negative against the owners, but that doesn't mean he's always wrong. Unfortunately for us, he's more often right. These people running our club don't seem to have a clue about anything other than making themselves richer.

You pay to get into the ground, you pay for a program, you pay for a club shirt, scarf, polo etc, you pay for a beer, you pay for a pie, you are a customer.
Mostly we are fans too but the fact is we need to fill the ground every week, which will be 66,000 next season

It's ridiculous really. Everybody thinks of themselves as a fan and a customer at different times. Even Johnson. If he didn't, he wouldn't moan like shit every time he got bad customer service from the ticket office or whatever.
